Attestation parade of ‘Thambis’ at Wellington

The Madras Regimental Centre (MRC) at Wellington witnessed the biggest attestation parade in the recent years wherein 377 recruits swore their oath and passed out from the historic Srinagesh Barracks.

The gallant jawans known as ‘Thambis’ of MRC, after going through a 42-week-long tough training schedule, came out with flying colours to safeguard India, in the most challenging frontiers.

Colonel of the Madras Regiment Lieutenant General S.L. Narasimhan reviewed the grand attestation parade. He lauded the Centre for transforming young students into hardened warriors who would defend the country across all terrains. Parents of these young warriors witnessed the parade with their hearts filled with honour and pride as their boys marched.

The attestation parade was followed by presenting Gaurav Padak to the parents of the soldiers.
