There is no political motive in the smart city project - Minister M.P. Saminathan

M P Saminathan, Minister of Information and Tamil Development, said during the inauguration of different projects in Tirupur that all of the projects, including the smart city, can be be brought in using people's tax money and that there are no political objectives behind it.



Tirupur: M P Saminathan, Minister of Information and Tamil Development, has stated that there are no political agendas in programmes such as smart cities with people's tax money.



The bhoomi pujan for the renovation of the temple-route bus stand under Tirupur Corporation at a cost of Rs 26 lakh and the construction of a bridge near Nataraj Theatre at an estimated cost of Rs 14 crore and the inauguration of the Tirupur South Tahsildar's office were held on Friday.



M P Saminathan, Minister of Information and Tamil Development, attended the event and inaugurated the work. After that, he told reporters,



The temple-route bus stop is being refurbished with a variety of facilities. Similarly, in order to reduce traffic congestion in Tirupur, a bridge near Natraj Theatre on the banks of the Noyyal river is being built at a cost of Rs 14 crore. These will be done quickly and made available to the public.

In response to a query on BJP in-charge Sudhakar Reddy's statement that the DMK stamp has been affixed to the smart city project, he stated that any project, including the Smart City project, is work that people may perform with tax money. There is no intention of any kind of political labeling. This is what he said.
