Coimbatore city police conducted awareness programmes based on the theme of 'I don't want to get drunk'

On the occasion of the International Day against Drug Abuse, the Coimbatore City Police organized several programmes this Monday morning. Furthermore, Coimbatore Corporation, in association with Young India, conducted awareness programmes on drugs at Thomas Park in Race Course area.



Coimbatore: The Coimbatore City Police Department has begun a series of initiatives in commemoration of the International Day Against Drug Abuse. Following that, the Coimbatore City Police, in collaboration with the Coimbatore Corporation, held drug awareness events in partnership with Young India at Thomas Park in the Race Course area.



On this occasion, students from various colleges came together to stage songs, plays, orchestras, mime shows, etc., to create awareness against drugs.

The #drugfreekovai shows were themed "I don't want to be drunk" and titled "I don't want to be drunk." 



Earlier, a pledge on de-addiction was taken on de-addiction and a signature campaign was launched. 



IG Sudhakar, Coimbatore City Police Commissioner Balakrishnan, Coimbatore Corporation Commissioner Prathap, police officials and young India activists were present on the occasion.



Speaking to reporters on the occasion, Commissioner of Police Balakrishnan stated, "Such awareness will continue to be carried out in Coimbatore city and district areas." "It is mandatory for both of them to wear helmets while riding two-wheelers, and those who are not wearing helmets have been advised as it is the first day."He said a few people were taken to the traffic park and made aware and action would be taken to implement them with further instructions in the coming days.
