Duped of Rs 14 lakh on the pretext of getting free house site patta - former AIADMK MLA complains to Tirupur Collector

The victims have lodged a complaint with the collector's office demanding action against Sankar, a native of Veerapandi, for allegedly duping former AIADMK MLA Karaiputhur Natarajan of the tune of Rs 14 lakh on the pretext of getting him a free house site patta.



Tirupur: A complaint has been lodged with the District Collector's office demanding action against a person who duped a person of up to Rs 14 lakh on the pretext of getting free house site pattas.



Palaniswami belongs to the Differently Abled Welfare Association. He is said to have been doing various social services, including free house site pattas for the public.

In January 2022, Shankar, a resident of Veerapandi, told him that he was working as a driver for former AIADMK MLA from Palladam, Karaiputhur Natarajan, and that he knew officials in the district collectorate and tahsildar's offices well.

He also said that if he pays Rs 30,000 per person to buy free house site pattas, he will get it immediately. When informed to the public in The Chundamedu area in this regard, More than 75 families claim to have paid Rs 5,000 and Rs 10,000 in small amounts.

In the last six months, they have collected around Rs 14 lakh and given it to Shankar. But Shankar cheated the people who gave him money by not buying free house site pattas. We contacted him over the phone in this regard but did not get a proper response.



The affected people have lodged a complaint with the Tirupur municipal commissioner's office. The affected people today submitted a petition to the Tirupur district collectorate demanding action against Shankar, who duped them of Rs 14 lakh on the pretext of providing them free house site pattas.
