Zip Line and Zip Cycle Test Run in Coimbatore - Corporation Commissioner inspects

Coimbatore Corporation has set up a zip line and zip cycle for a distance of about 200 meters on t lake bund with recreational and safety features at Ukkadam Periyakulam and corporation commissioner M Prathap inspected the ongoing trial run.


Coimbatore: The Corporation Commissioner personally inspected and inspected the ongoing construction of a "V" shaped toranam at the entrance of the tank to mark the name of Valankulam.



Coimbatore Corporation as part of smart city projects at Ukkadam Periyakulam at an estimated cost of Rs.62.17 crore, 3 persons at a time will be on the zipline for a distance of about 200 metres on the surface of the tank with recreational and safety features. Zip LINE & ZIP CYCLE is designed to allow 3 persons to travel on a zip cycle as well. Corporation Commissioner M Prathap personally visited the spot and instructed the engineers to ensure that the work is of good quality and safety.



Earlier, as part of the rehabilitation works at a cost of Rs.67.86 crore under smart city project at Ukkadam Valankulam, construction of a "V" shaped toranam in the entrance of the Kulam indicating the name of Valankulam. Corporation Commissioner M Prathap personally visited the construction work of the dining hall and inspected it and instructed the concerned engineer to complete the works expeditiously and qualitatively.

Assistant Executive Engineer Hemalatha, Assistant Engineers Kamalakannan, Saravanakumar and Corporation officials were present during the inspections.
