Revenue Department's negligence - Theft of mineral resources in broad daylight in Udumalpet allege farmers

There have been complaints of theft of mineral resources day and night in the rugged area of Thampuran Koil near Udumalpet, which leads to the Amaravathi dam.

Tirupur: The farmers alleged that the revenue officials were turning a blind eye to the looting of mineral resources despite filing complaints with evidence.

For the past few days, mineral resources have been stolen day and night in the rough area of Thampuran Koil near Udumalpet in Tirupur district leading to the Amaravathi dam.

Though the farmers of the area have informed the revenue department with proper evidence, no effort has been made by the revenue department to stop the smuggling of minerals.

In the next few days, the farmers will gather together and gherao the Udumalpet Divisional Officer's office to protest against the revenue officials who are supporting the smuggling of mineral resources.

In the last few days, more than 100 vehicles have stolen mineral resources worth lakhs of rupees.
