Increase in Pongal Pot Making Activities in Coimbatore Following Improved Weather

Coimbatore sees a surge in the production of Pongal pots following recent sunny weather, overcoming the slowdown caused by rains and cloudy conditions.

Coimbatore: In the last few weeks, the traditional craft of pot making in Coimbatore had slowed down due to continuous rain and overcast skies. However, with the recent onset of sunny weather, there has been a significant increase in the production of Pongal pots. Local artisans are now actively engaged in making pots of various sizes, from one foot to larger dimensions, featuring diverse designs. These pots, essential for the Pongal festival, are priced between Rs. 50 and Rs. 1000, catering to different customer preferences. This uptick in activity is a boon for local potters and a vibrant sign of the city's cultural engagement with the Pongal festival.
