Rising Heatwave Alert for Coimbatore: Weather Center Issues Warning

The Chennai Meteorological Center has said that on March 7 and 8, temperatures are forecasted to reach up to 36 degrees Celsius and continue to be hot over the next week.


Coimbatore: The residents of Coimbatore have been alerted to brace for rising temperatures as the Chennai Meteorological Center released a forecast indicating a significant increase in heat levels over the coming week. According to the latest update provided on March 4, the temperature, which was recorded at 34 degrees Celsius last Saturday, is expected to climb to 35 degrees Celsius today.

The weather center has predicted that this temperature trend is likely to continue into tomorrow and the day after, maintaining at 35 degrees Celsius. However, a noticeable increase is anticipated by Thursday, March 7, when the temperature is expected to rise by an additional degree.

Following this, on March 7 and 8, temperatures are forecasted to reach up to 36 degrees Celsius, marking a substantial upsurge in heat for Coimbatore. This prediction underscores a looming heatwave condition that could potentially affect daily activities and health.

In light of this forecast, the Chennai Meteorological Center advises the public to take precautionary measures, particularly in planning travel arrangements. Residents are urged to stay informed about the weather conditions and to take necessary precautions to mitigate the effects of the heatwave.
