Traffic Diversions Announced in Mettupalayam Ahead of PM Modi's Visit

In light of Prime Minister Modi's campaign visit, vehicles arriving from Tirupur, Salem, Erode, Karur, and similar locations can proceed to Annur, then travel to Kariampalayam using Coimbatore Road, and subsequently head to Mettupalayam through Karamadai.


Coimbatore: Prime Minister Modi's will be addressing a public meeting in Then Tirupathi, Nal Road area in Mettupalayam,today, in support of BJP candidates - Coimbatore -Annamalai, Nilgiris -Union Minister L. Murugan, Pollachi - Vasantharajan, and Tiruppur - A.P. Muruganandam.

In anticipation of Prime Minister Modi's visit, a five-tier security arrangement has been implemented in Coimbatore and Mettupalayam areas, with 5000 police officers deployed for security duties to ensure the safety of the Prime Minister and attendees.



The Prime Minister is expected to arrive at a specially prepared helipad in Jadayampalayam near the public meeting venue from Coimbatore airport by helicopter at 2.20 pm today. Post-campaign, he will return to Coimbatore airport at 3.30 pm and then depart for Nagpur. 

Traffic diversions have been announced by the police for the smooth management of vehicular movement in the area, detailing routes for vehicles coming from various directions including Ooty, Kothagiri, Tirupur, Salem, Erode, and Karur.



Vehicles from these areas are advised to route through Annur to Kariampalayam via Coimbatore Road and then proceed to Mettupalayam via Karamadai. Similarly, the usual route to Coimbatore through Mettupalayam and Karamadai remains open for vehicles traveling from Mettupalayam to Coimbatore. 

Additional directions have been provided for vehicles coming from Ooty and Kothagiri to navigate through Sirumugai via Mettupalayam Odanthura Ramasamy Nagar.

To ensure safety and security, the use of drones has been prohibited within a 5 km radius of the helipad and the public meeting venue. These measures are part of the comprehensive arrangements made in anticipation of Prime Minister Modi's visit to the region.
