Coimbatore City Police Begins New Fitness and Meditation Regime

Today, the Coimbatore City Police inaugurated a 48-day wellness program aimed at improving the physical and mental health of its personnel through 2-minute runs and 10-minute meditation sessions daily.

Coimbatore: In an effort to enhance the well-being of its officers, the Coimbatore City Police has launched a new fitness regime that involves daily sessions of running and meditation.

Starting today, this 48-day program mandates a 2-minute run followed by a 10-minute meditation, aimed at becoming a routine for the officers. Commissioner of Police, Balakrishnan, advised that this practice would substantially benefit the physical and mental health of the police force.

The initial session saw participation from 60 officers, including 40 men and 20 women, from the Coimbatore City Armed Reserve.

They covered a 2km distance starting from the Armed Reserve ground, through Dr. Balasundaram Road, and back, following a route that passed major landmarks such as the Women's Polytechnic College and Anna Statue. The session concluded where it began, at the City Armed Reserve Ground.

This exercise is part of a broader initiative to institutionalize fitness among the police personnel. Assistant Commissioner of Police, Sekar; Vehicle Division Inspector, Jayavel; and Inspector Kittu from the City Armed Reserve, along with other officers, participated in launching this wellness drive.
