Strict Measures Against Unaccredited Centers for the Disabled in Coimbatore

Coimbatore District Administration warns that strict action will be taken against training centers, special schools, and mental health shelters operating without proper registration or accreditation.

Coimbatore: Coimbatore District Collector Kranthi Kumar Pati has issued a stern warning against unregistered and unaccredited institutions serving differently-abled individuals. The announcement, made on June 26, highlights the government's commitment to ensuring quality education and vocational training for the disabled as mandated by the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016.

The District Collector stated that private organizations involved in the education, vocational training, and rehabilitation of the disabled must operate with proper registration and accreditation. Those failing to comply within one month from today will face severe legal actions.

Institutions must submit their application forms in person at the District Disabled Welfare Office located in the District Collector’s premises to obtain government recognition and the necessary certification.
