Intensive Diarrhea Prevention Camp to be Held in Coimbatore from July 1 to August 31

Coimbatore district administration announces an intensive diarrhea prevention camp for children under five, starting July 1 to August 31, excluding Wednesdays and Sundays, at various health centers across the district.


Coimbatore: In a recent announcement, the Coimbatore district administration declared plans for an intensive diarrhea prevention camp, targeting children under the age of five. This initiative, spearheaded by the Tamil Nadu government, aims to reduce diarrhea-induced fatalities among young children. The camp is scheduled to run from July 1 to August 31, on all days except Wednesdays and Sundays, and will be held at various Anganwadi centers, subsidiary health stations, primary health centers, and government hospitals throughout the district.


The camp activities will involve Anganwadi workers and village health nurses educating on preventive measures for diarrhea. Moreover, children identified with diarrhea symptoms will receive ORS solutions and zinc tablets. Necessary treatments will be provided at the primary health centers for those requiring additional care. According to the district's report, approximately 304,951 children under five are expected to benefit from this camp.
