Scheduled for November 30 and December 1, the Food Festival and Wedding Expo will showcase over 400 food varieties, with participation from more than 1000 caterers, 3000 culinary experts, and an expected footfall of over 50,000 visitors.

Speaking to reporters after the introductory event, Dayalan, State General Secretary of the Tamil Nadu Caterers Association, said, "There are about 450 to 500 caterers in Tamil Nadu alone. All of them are coming together to conduct this food festival. We have planned for 25,000 participants per day, totaling 50,000 over two days. The event will run from 6 PM to 10 PM on both days."

Dayalan further added, "We plan to invite various special guests and cinema celebrities during the event days. There will also be food competitions and dance performances. We have fixed the entry fee at Rs. 800 for adults and Rs. 500 for children. We are planning for online payment and pre-registration. We will arrange 350 to 400 varieties of food items, including South Indian, North Indian, Chinese, and Western cuisines, both vegetarian and non-vegetarian. Food will be served buffet-style."

The organizers emphasized their commitment to reducing plastic usage by utilizing clay cups, wooden spoons, and paper plates. The Wedding Expo will feature various wedding-related industries, including jewelers, decorators, photographers, and textile vendors.

Members of the Caterers Association stated that they aim to enhance the Kovai Vizha celebrations with this Food Festival and Wedding Expo, making it an event for all Coimbatore residents to enjoy. They also mentioned their intention to attempt a Guinness World Record during the event.
