Serial offender breaks leg while fleeing after robbery attempt in Annur

A man with a history of criminal offenses attempted to rob a person in Annur police station limits. While trying to escape, he slipped and fractured his leg, leading to his arrest.


Coimbatore: In a twist of fate, a serial offender's attempt at robbery in Annur police station limits ended with him breaking his leg while trying to escape. The incident occurred when the accused tried to rob a local resident named Boopathi.

Boopathi, a resident of the Annur police station area, was traveling through Ellappa Palayam when he was intercepted by the accused. The assailant snatched Boopathi's mobile phone and robbed him of the cash he was carrying.



As the robber attempted to flee the scene, he slipped and fell, resulting in a leg fracture. This unfortunate turn of events for the criminal led to his immediate capture by the police.

During the subsequent interrogation, the accused was identified as German Rakesh, a man with a history of various criminal activities and a name in the police records. The police have registered a case against German Rakesh and are continuing their investigation.

Currently, German Rakesh is undergoing medical treatment for his leg injury while in police custody. The Annur police are conducting a thorough investigation into the incident and the accused's previous criminal activities.
