East Zone Chairperson Inspects Rainwater Drain Cleaning in Ward 52 and Inaugurates Special Cleanliness Drive in Ward 51

East Zone Chairperson Lakshmi Ilanchelvi Karthik inspected rainwater drain cleaning in Ward 52 and launched a special cleanliness drive in Ward 51 of Coimbatore on October 5, addressing public requests and promoting sanitation.


Coimbatore: East Zone Chairperson Lakshmi Ilanchelvi Karthik conducted inspections and inaugurated cleanliness initiatives in two wards of Coimbatore on October 5, 2024. The activities aimed to address public concerns and improve sanitation in the city.

In Ward 52, Chairperson Karthik inspected the ongoing rainwater drain cleaning work in Anna Nagar area. The cleaning operation was initiated in response to requests from local residents. During her visit, she also addressed the issue of a damaged Suez drinking water pipeline, instructing concerned officials to rectify the problem immediately.



The inspection in Ward 52 was attended by Executive Committee member Balasubramaniam and local residents. Chairperson Karthik's prompt response to the public's concerns demonstrated the corporation's commitment to maintaining proper drainage and water supply systems in the area.

In a separate event on the same day, Chairperson Lakshmi Ilanchelvi Karthik inaugurated a special cleanliness drive in Ward 51 of the East Zone. The initiative, which began early Saturday morning, focused on enhancing the overall cleanliness of the ward.



The cleanliness drive was launched in the presence of East Zone Assistant Commissioner Muthusamy and Council members Amsaveni and Manikandan. Zonal Health Officer Vijayakumar, Health Supervisor Jeevan, and corporation workers participated in the event, underscoring the collaborative effort to maintain cleanliness in the city.

These initiatives highlight the Coimbatore City Municipal Corporation's ongoing efforts to address public concerns and improve the living conditions of residents across various wards.
