A husband and wife were caught on CCTV camera stealing milk packets from a distributor's booth in Kovilmedu area of Coimbatore in the early morning hours. The footage shows the couple loading packets into a plastic bucket before fleeing on a two-wheeler.

Coimbatore: A brazen theft of milk packets by a husband-wife duo in the early morning hours has come to light through CCTV footage in Kovilmedu area of Coimbatore city. The incident, which occurred around 3:30 AM today, has gone viral on social media after the milk distributor shared the surveillance footage online.

Milk agents across various streets of Coimbatore city regularly supply milk to the public in the early morning hours. It is common practice for Aavin and private dairy companies to stack milk packets in plastic trays and deliver them to locations specified by agents through vehicles.

David, a milk distributor in the Kovilmedu area, had milk packets stacked in trays at his booth when the theft occurred. A couple arrived on a two-wheeler and, noticing the absence of people in the area, proceeded to steal milk packets from the stacked trays. The surveillance footage clearly shows them transferring the packets into a plastic bucket they had brought with them before fleeing the scene.

When David later checked the packets, he noticed the count was lower than expected. Upon reviewing the CCTV camera footage installed at the location, he discovered the recorded evidence of the husband and wife working together to steal the milk packets. The distributor has since shared the CCTV footage on social media platforms, where it is currently going viral and drawing public attention to the incident.

The theft highlights growing concerns about early morning thefts targeting milk distributors who leave their products unattended for brief periods. Local residents have expressed shock at the audacity of the couple, who appeared to have planned the theft in advance by bringing a container to carry away the stolen goods.

Police are expected to take action based on the CCTV evidence provided by the distributor.
