TNAU Coimbatore Organizes Millet Value-Added Food Products Training on May 12-13

Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore, will conduct a two-day training program on May 12-13, 2026, focusing on preparation of value-added food products from millets including ragi, pearl millet, maize, little millet, foxtail millet, and proso millet. Training fee is Rs 1,770.


Coimbatore: Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU) will organize a two-day training program on preparation of value-added food products from millets on May 12 and 13, 2026.




Millet varieties such as ragi (finger millet), pearl millet, maize, little millet, foxtail millet, and proso millet are consumed by people to some extent in their diet. In urban areas, ragi is particularly popular. This training will focus on the nutritional benefits of various millet varieties and the value-added technologies used to process them into food products.




The training will cover technologies related to traditional foods, milling, ready-to-cook products, and instant ready-to-eat foods. Interested participants must pay Rs 1,770 (Rs 1,500 + 18% GST) on the first day of the training.




The training will be conducted from 9 AM to 5 PM. Venue: Post Harvest Technology Centre, Agricultural Engineering College and Research Institute, Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore - 641 003.
