Mettupalayam MLA Sunil Anand inspected government schools under Gudalur Municipality and directed officials to repair a damaged overhead water tank and poorly maintained toilet facilities to ensure student safety and welfare.

Mettupalayam MLA Sunil Anand conducted an inspection of government schools functioning under the Gudalur Municipality in Coimbatore district and reviewed various infrastructure facilities.

During his visit to the Selvapuram Government Middle School, the MLA found that the pillars supporting the overhead drinking water tank had deteriorated, with steel reinforcement bars exposed and visible.
Expressing concern over student safety, he directed Gudalur Municipal Commissioner Moovendran to immediately undertake repair works on the damaged water tank and prevent any untoward incidents.
The MLA later inspected a government school at Thirumalai Nayakkanpalayam, where he observed that the toilets used by students were poorly maintained and had suffered damage. He instructed officials to carry out repairs and restore the facilities for regular use by schoolchildren.
During the inspection, residents of Vijaya Nagar in Ward 6 submitted a petition requesting the construction of a road in their locality. Receiving the petition, Sunil Anand assured the public that steps would be taken to provide the road facility at the earliest.
Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam Gudalur Town Secretary Sathyakumar, along with party functionaries Saravanan, Shakeela, Poornima, Vijay, Vignesh, Venkatesh, Kousik, Mowri and Ajith, among others, accompanied the MLA during the inspection.
