Vadavalli Sanitation Workers Honored by Corporation Commissioner for Waste Segregation

Coimbatore Corporation Commissioner Katta Ravi Teja honored sanitation workers and sanitary supervisors from Vadavalli area in West Zone for their excellent work in segregating biodegradable and non-biodegradable waste. Public participation in waste management was also commendable.


Coimbatore: Coimbatore Corporation Commissioner Katta Ravi Teja presented certificates of appreciation and prizes to sanitation workers and sanitary supervisors who performed exceptional work in waste management in the Vadavalli area under Ward No. 36 of the West Zone.

At an event held today (31.07.2026) at the West Zone office, awards were presented to two sanitation workers and two sanitary supervisors who excelled in segregating biodegradable and non-biodegradable waste. Sanitation workers across all areas under Coimbatore Corporation go door-to-door collecting segregated biodegradable and non-biodegradable waste.



As part of this initiative, sanitation workers Kalaimani and Murugammal, who performed this work excellently in the Vadavalli area, were presented with shields and prizes. The Corporation Commissioner also honored Sanitary Supervisor Murugan and Contract Sanitary Supervisor Kanakaraj, who efficiently monitored these operations. Additionally, certificates were presented to residents of Vadavalli under Ward No. 36 for segregating waste and handing it over to sanitation workers.

During the event, West Zone Chairperson K.A. Deivayanai Tamilmarai, City Health Officer Dr. Subash Gandhi, Assistant Commissioner Narmada, Councillor Kumudham, Assistant Engineer Zonal Savitha, Sanitary Inspector Radhakrishnan, Sanitary Inspectors Rajendran, and several other Corporation officials were present.

The Corporation Commissioner emphasized that waste segregation is crucial in waste management and encouraged all sanitation workers to continue such exemplary work. He appealed to the public to contribute to environmental protection by segregating waste at source.
