Coimbatore Corporation Commissioner Inspects Underground Sewage Project Works Across City Zones

Coimbatore Corporation Commissioner Katta Ravi Teja inspected underground sewage project works in East and North zones. The inspection covered 800-meter pipe laying on Kodissia Road, sewage pumping stations, and alternative traffic arrangements. Officials were directed to expedite quality work within deadlines.


Coimbatore: Coimbatore Corporation Commissioner Katta Ravi Teja conducted a comprehensive field inspection of underground sewage project works being undertaken in the North and East zones today (05.08.2026). The inspection focused on pipe-laying activities in various areas and sewage pumping station facilities across multiple locations.

The Commissioner examined the underground sewage pipe installation sites at Ganapathi Kattabomman Street and Sakthi Road areas falling under Ward No. 29 of the North Zone. In the East Zone, an 800-meter stretch of underground sewage pipeline is planned to be laid on Kodissia Road. Officials were instructed to arrange alternative routes through the Traffic Department to avoid traffic congestion and expedite the work.



Subsequently, Commissioner Katta Ravi Teja inspected the underground sewage pipe-laying location at Title Park Road area under Ward No. 24 of the East Zone. At the sewage pumping station already established in the Kallimadai and Vasantham Nagar area, he directed concerned officials to quickly complete the installation of motor pumps.

The Commissioner ordered officials to prepare drawings for laying pipes along approximately 300 meters from the opposite side of GV Residency on Kodissia Road, Avinashi Road, and in the Panmaal Junction and New India areas under the East Zone.



During these inspections, Deputy City Engineer Ezhil, Assistant Commissioner Dakshinamurthy, Assistant Executive Engineer Elangovan, Councilor Bhoopathi, Zonal Health Officer Rajendran, Assistant Engineers Ravikkannan, Burman Ali, and Sakthivel, along with several other Corporation officials were present.

These project works are being undertaken with the aim of improving sewage facilities in various parts of the city. Corporation Commissioner Katta Ravi Teja has emphasized completing these works with quality and within the stipulated deadline.
