TNAU’s COXBIT Promotes Food-Based Startups at Food Pro Expo 2026 in Chennai

The Centre of Excellence in Biotechnology (COXBIT) at Tamil Nadu Agricultural University showcased innovative food products developed by its incubated startups at Food Pro Expo 2026 in Chennai, highlighting research-driven entrepreneurship and support for food-sector innovation.

Coimbatore: With a focus on nurturing technology-oriented entrepreneurs and startups in the field of biotechnology, while facilitating certification services and skill development opportunities, the Centre of Excellence in Biotechnology (COXBIT) of Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU) showcased innovative food products developed by its incubated startups at Food Pro Expo 2026, held at the Chennai Trade Centre from August 7 to 9.

During the expo, Tamil Nadu Minister for Food and Civil Supplies P. Venkataramanan visited the COXBIT stalls and interacted with the team. The COXBIT team briefed him on the centre’s initiatives to promote food innovation and support startups in transforming research and innovative ideas into market-ready products.

COXBIT also showcased its integrated support ecosystem for startups, offering assistance in accessing financial support and funding opportunities, state-of-the-art laboratory facilities for product development and validation, technical guidance and mentoring, as well as dedicated workspaces for developing innovative products.

The expo featured innovative food products developed by COXBIT-incubated startups, including M/s. Aviva Organics, M/s. Themolife Pharmaceuticals, M/s. Ziwwits Sustainable Technologies Private Limited and M/s. Arshitha Food Products. The products highlighted the potential of research-driven entrepreneurship to create value-added, innovative and market-oriented food solutions.

Through initiatives such as these, COXBIT continues to strengthen the pathway from research to technology, technology to startups and startups to industry, supporting the growth of Tamil Nadu’s food-processing and innovation ecosystem.
