Coimbatore district recorded a total rainfall of 25 mm, with an average of 1.09 mm, during the 24-hour period ending at 7.30 a.m. on August 12. Meanwhile, the Siruvani Dam received no rainfall at either the dam or Adivaram, with the water depth standing at 26.80 feet against the dam’s total capacity of 49.53 feet.
Coimbatore: The Siruvani Dam recorded a water depth of 26.80 feet as of Wednesday morning, with no rainfall reported at either the dam or Adivaram, according to the latest water supply status report.
The dam’s water level stood at 871.57 metres against the full level of 878.50 metres. The recorded water depth was 26.80 feet against a maximum depth of 49.53 feet.
The reservoir currently has 245.13 million cubic feet (MCFT) of useful storage.
Through the 1,000 mm, 500 mm and 450 mm main pipelines, 72.86 million litres per day (MLD) of water is currently being supplied, against the stated supply capacity of 101.40 MLD.
No rainfall was recorded at Siruvani Adivaram or the dam as of the morning of August 12. The Coimbatore district rainfall report also recorded no rain at most monitoring stations, while light rainfall was reported at Cincona, Chinnonakkal, Siruvani PAP, Valparai Taluk and Sholayar.
