Coimbatore: Tamil Nadu Electricity Board (TANGEDCO) has announced a scheduled seven-hour power supply disruption on August 18, from 9 AM to 4 PM, due to planned maintenance work at the Papanaickanpalayam substation.
The maintenance work will affect several key areas in and around Papanaickanpalayam. Residents and commercial establishments in Purani Colony, Avarampalaiyam, Ganesh Nagar, Kamadhenu Nagar, Nava India Road, Ganapathy Bus Stand, Chinnabuthur, Palayur, P.N. Palayam, GKNM Hospital, and Alamu Nagar will experience power outages during this period.
According to TANGEDCO officials, the maintenance work is essential to enhance power generation and distribution efficiency, and to ensure optimal functioning of the substation. If the work proceeds as scheduled, power supply will be restored by 4 PM.
The electricity board has advised residents in the affected areas, particularly hospitals, factories, and commercial establishments, to make necessary arrangements in advance. TANGEDCO has assured that power supply will be gradually restored to all areas once the maintenance work is completed.
