Coimbatore Corporation Census 2027: 61 percent House Listing Completed, Helpline Numbers Released for Missed Households

The first phase house listing work of Population Census 2027 in Coimbatore Corporation, which began on August 1, has reached 61 percent completion. Zone-wise helpline numbers have been announced for households not yet covered, and public cooperation is requested for the enumeration process.


Coimbatore: The first phase house listing operations of the Indian Population Census 2027 are progressing intensively across Coimbatore Corporation areas. The enumeration work, which commenced on August 1, has successfully completed 61 percent as of August 17, Corporation officials announced.


This census is being conducted in two phases, with the first phase focusing on house listing and population enumeration. Officials stated that the house listing census work is being carried out at full pace, and the remaining 39 percent work is being completed rapidly.


The Corporation has announced that residents whose households have not yet been visited by enumerators or those from areas that have been missed can contact the zone-wise nodal officers at the respective Corporation zonal offices.

Officials informed that all census enumerators will be wearing official identity cards issued by the Corporation. They clarified that only first phase details such as house address, nature of walls, roof type, drinking water source, toilet facilities, and number of family members will be collected during this stage.


The Corporation has assured that all collected information will be kept strictly confidential. Officials explained that this data will be used solely for proper planning of government welfare schemes and Coimbatore urban development programs.


The Corporation has requested the public to provide accurate information when enumerators and supervisors visit their homes and extend full cooperation to them. Officials stated that this census will form the foundation for urban development initiatives in the city.
