Deadline for inclusion in voters’ list

The Nilgiris district administration has appealed to all those eligible to vote but have not enrolled in the voters’ list to do so immediately as April 19 is the deadline.

A release from the district administration said that it had released the final voters’ list on January 20, 2016 after keeping January 1, 2016 as the cut-off date. The list was available at polling booths, offices of thasildar and revenue divisional officers and local bodies for people to see.

At present, it was carrying out a revision exercise that people could make use of if they did not find their names in the voters’ list, the release said and urged people to do so as they could vote in the ensuing election.

The release added that April 19 was the last date for inclusion of names.
