Car rams bridge, one dead, four injured at Karumathampatti

A 52- year-old man was killed and four of his family members injured after the car, they were travelling in, lost control and hit the side median of a bridge at Karumathampatti on Wednesday.

The deceased was identified as V. Hariharan, of Pammal in Chennai. Police said Hariharan was travelling in a car with his wife H. Shanthi, son H. Vishvanathan, daughter H. Anatha Lakshmi and relative T. Kandiban.

Vishvanathan lost control of the car at Karumathampatti and rammed into a bridge. Hariharan sustained injuries and died on the way to the hospital.
