Two killed in accident

Two persons were killed in an accident at the Allikaranpudur junction on Annur - Mettupalayam Road on Saturday night.

The victims, Kanagaraj (25) and his relative Karupan (41), both from Allikaranpudur, were on their way to the nearby liquor outlet. Kanagaraj was riding the bike.

They were near the junction, when a speeding tourist van knocked them down from the two-wheeler. The duo died on the spot.

Their bodies were taken to the Coimbatore Medical College Hospital for post-mortem examination.

The Annur police registered a case against the van driver, Further investigation is on.
