One more case against Maoists

Variety Hall Road Police in the city have registered a case against Maoist leader Roopesh and his wife Shyna – who are in jail since May last year – for allegedly forging documents of K. Shanthi (40), a resident of Karuppa Gowder Street to buy a SIM card.

On a complaint lodged by Shanthi, the couple was booked under sections 419 (punishment for cheating by personation), 420 (cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property), 468 (forgery for purpose of cheating) and 471 (using as genuine a forged document or electronic record) of the Indian Penal Code.
