Kurichi lake cleaning underway: Exclusive Pictures

Kurichi lake is located next to Aathuplam in Coimbatore. It has a length of 4.81 kms. This beautiful wetland has been polluted to major extent by various pollutants both natural and man made.

 

The Kurichi Padhukaapu Iyakkam is an organization to save this lake. The volunteers from this organization has taken a task of cleaning this lake for past 15 days. The organization has removed lot of wastes including the plants grown to a major extent. They have spent nearly 15 lakh rupees for this purpose.

On June 12 2016 this organization went about the task to remove plastic from this lake near Chinnakulam on Pollachi road from morning 6.00 AM to 9.00 AM. They were supported by  volunteers, social activists and the Rapid Action Force. 

The organization has requested the citizens of Coimbatore to extend helping hand for this noble cause and do their share of social work for the protection of this lake.
