App to connect Blood Donors and Recipient

With the advent of digital era everyone has smartphones, WiFi, tabs etc. Not only that we have a mobile application for each and everything from cooking to getting a simple things done. Now we will have a mobile application for a noble cause. Just in a few weeks time citizens of Coimbatore will have an exclusively designed mobile application which will be able to connect blood donors and blood recipients.

This good work is as a result of District Collector Archana Patnaik words regarding bringing the database of donors under single platform while starting the blood donation awareness rally on Sunday.

Padmanaban Gopalan of Society Promoting Innovation Creativity and Entrepreneurship, the brain behind many apps for social cause is designing this app with support from 'Namma Kovai' WhatsApp group. R.Raveendran is a member of this group is coordinating the app development.

The concept of the app makes it unique from other apps. It will have decentralized donor database. The hospital will post the blood requirement and after authentication this information will be passed to people within 3 km of radius of hospital. If the requirement is met other donors will be intimated. The app will come with a feature of a donating or declining the request.
