TNAU celebrates its 46th Foundation Day

The 46th foundation and graduation day for distance education was organised at Tamil Nadu Agriculture University, Coimbatore. The Vice Chancellor of TNAU, Dr.K.Ramasamy welcomed the Minister for Agriculture, R.Doraikannu and the Deputy Speaker of Tamil Nadu Assembly, Pollachi V Jayaraman were the dignitaries who graced the event. 

The students graduated through the distance education programme were honoured with graduation certificates along with officers, scientists and researchers received their felicitations for 

their commendable service to the University. 

The Minster for Agriculture, R. Doraikannu in his speech stated that, in the last five years, TNAU has acquired around 44 plants varieties, 13 new agricultural equipment and has adopted 100 latest techniques in the field of agriculture. He also stressed on the importance of cultivating protein rich crops and its implications on health along with his assurance to improve oil seed cultivation at TNAU.
