IMK sends Rs 1 lakh cheque to Karnan to leave country

Indu Makkal Katchi (IMK) state president Arjun Sampath and other functionaries have sent a letter to Madras high court Justice CS Karnan on Thursday, requesting him to leave the country if he wished to do so.

The letter also included a check for Rs 1 lakh towards "his travel expenses". They also sent a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, requesting him to take action against the judge.

A few days ago, justice Karnan had stated that he was a victim of caste discrimination in the judicial system. If his birthright was cancelled, he would migrate to another country where there is no such discrimination, he had stated.

Indu Makkal Katchi condemned justice Karnan for speaking against the entire judicial system.

"The Justice is the one trying to create discrimination in the judicial system. Is this how he respects the Constitution of India. He is free to leave the country when ever he wants. IMK is ready to bear his travel expenses," said Sampath.

On Wednesday evening, Sampath, state general secretary R Ravikumar and few other functionaries posted the letter along with Rs 1 lakh cheque from a post office located at the collectorate.

They also sent a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, requesting the Centre to make arrangements to send the justice to some other country.
