Chocolates dumped at Periyakulam, Ukkadam

Heaps of chocolates have been dumped at Periyakulam, Ukkadam. The chocolates have past their expiry dates and that's the reason for it to be dumped. The food safety authorities have been inspecting all retail premises to check the quality and expiry of food sold from yesterday. It is assumed that somebody has dumped these chocolates in advance to get away from the fine and action against them from the food authorities.

The public demand that the dumped chocolates should be removed from the site immediately as it lures children to pick them from the waste. Similar incident was reported in Chennai a few months back, where the drug dealers were trading drugs in the form of chocolates and large numbers of the stock were dumped in similar way as done in Ukkadam.
