Locals protest against land allocation for Transgenders

A scuffle between the locals of Chinnathottam area and the government officials created a brief commotion around the area.

The state government has allotted 41 cents of land in Chinnathottam area of Chinnavedampatti for building homes to the transgenders. As per the allotment order, the corporation officers came in with the JCB's to clear the land for construction. The locals were startled to hear the news and got into arguments with the officials seeking them to stop the work. The locals outraged in fury that the officials should immediately halt the order of allotment of land to the transgenders in their locality.

The tumult invited the Saravanampatti Police and few other government officials to the scene, the officials tried to convince the agitators by explaining the government allotment order but the infuriated locals repudiated their explanations.

After a serious argument session, the allotment work was put to a halt.
