Train Collision: Yet another elephant reported dead

It is saddening to report the death of yet another male elephant at Walayar, Tamilnadu border.

9 Elephants dead in 18 days, though the reasons behind the deaths vary diversely, it has set the alarm bells ringing. The reports indicate that, 6 out of the 9 have died due to natural ailments while 2 deaths are due to train collision and one due to bus collision.

Someway or the other the humans are soulfully responsible for the demise of the wild animals. The environment contamination doesn't end at our streets we carry them to the protected areas and reserve forests where animals thrive. The plastics and wastes disposed at animal corridors pose a serious threat for the animals to consume them and get into intestinal infection and related ailments, so how can deaths be claimed 'natural' they are 'man-made', isn't it? This dolorous chain of deaths has put us in a state of guilt and reminds us of our responsibility towards protecting the wilds and their habitat.

The recent death of the elephant, reported today has left the forest officials grief-stricken and early reports indicate that the pachyderm has collided with the train from Kerala to Tamilnadu.
