Coimbatore's Athlete Samyashree bags Silver at ISF Gynmnasaide 2016


Coimbatore's Athlete L.Samyashree who is now at Trabzon, Turkey to participate in the ISF Gynmnasaide 2016 has bagged a silver medal yesterday. 

She participated in the 200 m x 400 m x 600 m x 800 m relay and bagged a Silver medal. The present internal coup situation at Turkey had put Samyashree's family in distress, her achievement has brought smiles on the faces of her family and well-wishers. 

Her father Stated that he feels very proud of his daughter's achievement and that the internal coup situation at Turkey has been a big concern to them and the Chief Minister's government assurance for the safety of the athletes has given a huge sigh of relief to them, he asserted.

He further disclosed that the sleeveless jersey's provided by the Sports Federation of India has been regarded against the dress code proposed by the ISF Organisers and hence the participants from India would be unable to take part in the relay race on Saturday. 

The Sports Federation are expediting the process of arranging new clothes for the athletes aiding them to participate at least on Sunday. The dress code incident has caused disappointment amongst the participants, he stated. 

It is deemed that Samyashree will be participating in the 2020 Summer Olympics to be held in Japan.
