Anna University plants 1000 trees in memory of Abdul Kalam

Today, 27th July marks the first death anniversary of the People's President Dr.A.P.J Abdul Kalam. 



As a mark of tribute and respect to Dr Abdul Kalam, various NGO's, Educational Institutions, Government & Private Organisations have been initiating commendable projects focussing on greenery and upliftment of students community.

A massive tree planting campaign was organised today by Anna University along with Siruthuli and Robert Bosch. Nearly 1000 trees were planted on the University campus, which the intent of modifying the campus into a 'small forest' densely populated with trees.



Fruit bearing trees like Guava, Chikoo , Custard Apple, Jamun trees were planted in huge numbers along with Neem trees. 



Vanitha Mohan, Chairman Siruthuli addressed the gathering, she stated that it is the responsibility of every one of us to fulfil Kalam's dream 20-20. 

Dr.M. Saravanakumar, Regional Director, Mylsamy, Project Head from Anna University along with officials of Robert Bosch and students participated in the plantation event.
