Street to witness street play, yoga

The second Car-free Sunday, an initiative by The Hindu (Tamil) in partnership with the Coimbatore Corporation, and traffic police on NSR Road here from 6.30 a.m. to 9 a.m., will see comedy, street plays, and yoga and performance.

The Hindu (English) is the media partner.

The aim of the programme is to motivate the general public to shun motorised vehicles for a day.

A stand up comedy by Laughton Club, street play by students of Hinduthan Group of Institutions, Yoga performance by Krishnagopal and team, and a band display by National Model Matriculation Higher Secondary School will be held this Sunday.

The other activities include snakes and ladders, chess, Frisbee, painting, tattoo, and balloon art. There will be Bharatanatyam, classical dances, magic show, and live music too.

Workout sessions will be organised by Beethovan’s BodyZeal Fitness Studio. The event manager is Mark 1 Event, and the Radio partner is RadioCity.

The events will be held a little away from Thadagam Road to ensure free movement on Church Road and allow traffic near P & T Quarters.
