Alumnus award presented to Shantikumar V. Nair

Indian Institute of Technology-Mumbai recently conferred the Distinguished Alumnus award on Shantikumar V. Nair, Dean, Research and Director, Amrita Centre for Nanosciences and Molecular Medicine, Amrita University.

A release said that he was given the award by Sandip Trivedi, Director, Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, at a function held in Mumbai. He completed Metallurgical Engineering in 1976 and then went to the U.S. to earn an MS degree and pursue doctorate there. He was the joint inventor on almost 40 patent applications.
