Unclaimed suitcase at Coimbatore airport causes security stir; Airport security officials investigate with help of sniffer dogs

The unclaimed suitcase was lying unattended at the Coimbatore airport for a long time and was finally cleared away by airport security personnel after conducting a thorough search.


Coimbatore: With a large number of both domestic and international passengers arriving or departing at Coimbatore International Airport every day, Coimbatore airport is abuzz with activity including hosting Ministers, political party leaders, celebrities and the common man.



Electricity Minister Senthil Balaji arrived at the Coimbatore airport on Thursday to participate in various programs. PMK leader Anbumani Ramadoss arrived at the airport on the same flight and a press conference was held at the airport.



Meanwhile, an unclaimed suitcase was found lying unattended at the airport for a long time. The security forces personnel checked the box with the help of a sniffer dog and a metal detector. Following this, the security forces took cleared the suitcase after adhering to safety precautions in searching the suitcase. The incident created a tense atmosphere at the Coimbatore airport for some time.
