Rajan and three of his friends were sentenced to life imprisonment and a fine in this case
Coimbatore: Chithiraivel hails from Papanasam in Thanjavur district. He was staying at Ondipudur in Coimbatore and was working as a construction worker. In the same area, his elder brother lived with his wife and children.
In this case, Rajan, a native of Vellalore, had an illicit relationship with Chitravel's wife. As a result, Chithiraivel's wife left her husband and children behind and went to live alone with her lover Rajan.
As a result, Chithiraivel went to Vellalore and asked Rajan. Following this, his wife repented and left Rajan and started living with Chitravel again.
Enraged by this, Rajan thought that Chithiraivel was obstructing his love affair. On 17.5.2020, he went with his accomplices and beat him to death with a stick.
Singanallur police have registered a case of murder in this regard. Rajan and his associates Aravind, Kumar and Selvakumar were arrested and sent to jail.
The trial in the case was going on in the Third Additional Sessions Court, Coimbatore. The judge sentenced three accused, including Rajan, to life imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 5,000 each on them.
