For a 92- year old elderly woman in Sulur who was unable to avail a farmer incentive money due to old age, the Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department officials visited her at her door step to disburse the benefit.
Coimbatore: Even as eKYC has been made mandatory for availing the 13th instalment of benefit under the PM-KISAN scheme at Sulur, the agriculture department has instructed all farmers to link their phone numbers with Aadhaar.
In view of this, the farmers are updating their Aadhaar number by linking them with their mobile numbers. The Secretary of the Agriculture department had issued a circular asking the farmers to come to the agriculture welfare department office inorder to personally check and update their documents.
When a 92-year-old woman from Kannampalayam was unable to visit the office, officials of the Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, visited the old woman's house, recorded her fingerprints, verified the documents and complete the formalities of KYC inorder to facilitate the payment to her bank account.
Kalaiselvi, the granddaughter of the elderly woman, said, "The officials came home and made arrangements for providing farm incentives through the Kisan scheme. I thank them from the bottom of my heart"
