Police seized all the ganja packets weighing 5 kg from the ganja dealer's possession.
Coimbatore: The Coimbatore District Superintendent of Police, V Badrinarayanan has directed the rural police to eradicate drugs which are toxic to society. Accordingly, several accomplices named in the special cell patrol audit and interrogation of the arrested persons, were arrested on Friday.
A special police team led by the Sulur police station Inspector Mathaiyan, Sulur Police Unit arrested Ganga Baha (30), a native of Odisha for allegedly possessing ganja, a drug banned by the Government for endangering human life. The arrest was made during an intensive vehicle check near the bus stand.
The special cell police seized ganja weighing 5 kg from his possession and remanded the arrested person to judicial custody in Court.
Inspector Mathaiyan said, "Young people, either accidentally or by mistake, use drugs for fun and then completely get addicted to it. Don't go down the path of intoxication that changes the course of life," he advised.
