Police arrest eight people cockfight betting near Goundampalayam

Police arrested eight persons, who were engaged in cockfighting and betting near Goundampalayam. Police also seized Rs 10,700 in cash and two packs of fighter cocks from them, and later the arrested persons were let out on bail.


Coimbatore: Acting on a tip off that some perons have organised a cockfight- betting on Mariamman koil street area near Goundampalayam Thudiyalur police have acted fast and raided the venue and arrested eight persons,who were playing the betting game.

Following this, the police arrested eight persons, including Sivanandan, Manikandan, Senthilkumar, Babu from Vadavalli, Kanagaraj of Ratnapuri, Raja and Selvakumar of Goundampalayam and Praveen of Narasimhanaickenpalayam.

The police also seized Rs 10,700 in cash and two packs of cocks from their possession.

Later the arested persons were brought to the police station before letting them out on bail.
