Nilgiri Mountain Railway (NMR) cancelled due to inclement weather for two days

Due to landslides and falling of trees on the tracks due to heavy rains in the Nilgiris district, the NMR train services have been cancelled on both the routes between Mettupalayam and Udhagamandalam today and tomorrow.



Coimbatore: Heavy rains in the Nilgiris district last night triggered landslides at several places. The debris fell on NMR railway line between Kallar and Coonoor and they were covered with mud and rocks

In some places, trees uprooted by wind and rain have also fallen across the tracks. Due to this, train services between Mettupalayam and Coonoor have been disrupted.

In view of this, train services from Mettupalayam to Udhagamandalam- Mettupalayam have been cancelled today and tomorrow.

Accordingly, train no.06136 Mettupalayam - Udhagamandalam train stands cancelled and train no. 06137 Udhagamandalam - Mettupalayam train has also been cancelled.

However, the NMR train service between Coonoor and Udhagamandalam will run as usual.
