The 'Vishnupuram Award', has been given to writers since 2010 in recognition of the pioneering works that have enriched modern Tamil literature, over the years.
The award has been instituted by the Coimbatore-based Vishnupuram Literary Circle. The award carries a momento, a citation and an award of Rs.2,00,000.
The 13th Vishnupuram Award ceremony for the year 2022 was held at a private auditorium in R.S. Puram, Coimbatore.
At the event, the award-winning documentary 'The Outsider', on the writing career of writer Charu Nivedita, was screened, which was directed by writer Aarathu.

In addition, a book written by fellow writers on Charu Nivedita's creative universe was also published.
Writers from Arunachal Pradesh, poet Mamang Thai, writer R. Kaliprasad, writer Bogan Shankar and writer Jayamohan were present on the occasion. Finally, writer Charu Nivedita delivered his acceptance speech.

The event was attended by District collector Sameeran, owner of Krishna Sweets and social activists in large numbers.
