Police have arrested a youth named Shahadip Rai, a native of Odisha, who was selling ganja chocolates at a beeda shop near Malumichampatti in Coimbatore. Police seized 125 ganja chocolates from him.

Police have formed special squads to check the sale of drugs including gutkha and ganja and they keep a strict vigil to nab the offenders..

Acting on a tip-off that ganja is being sold at a beeda shop near Malumichampatti in Coimbatore, the police team, led by Chettipalayam police sub-inspector Saravanan reached the spot and conducted a raid at the beeda shop and seized 125 packets of ganja chocolates kept for sale.

The arrested person has been identified as 25-year-old Shahadip Rai, a native of Odisha, who is currently staying with his friends in Sulur Thennampalayam and running a beeda shop in Malumichampatti area.

The arrested Shahadib Rao, was produced him in court and remanded in custody.
