Coimbatore: An awareness rally promoting alternatives to single-use plastics was conducted in Thudiyalur areas under Coimbatore Corporation's North Zone on August 17, 2026.
The rally was organized by the corporation to create awareness among the public about using alternative products instead of single-use disposable plastic items in Thudiyalur areas covering ward numbers 1, 2, 12, 13, 14, and 15 under the North Zone.
The awareness rally covered approximately 1 kilometer distance from Thudiyalur ward office to Thudiyalur Anjaneya Temple. Ward sanitation supervisors, sanitation workers, and animators participated in this rally.

Through these awareness initiatives, the corporation is also creating awareness about protecting the environment, animal welfare, and water resources.
