Wild elephants marauding fields near Narasipuram, telling CCTV footage goes viral

Wild elephants roaming in agricultural fields near Narasipuram near Thondamuthur,has created a stir and the CCTV footage of marauding elephants has gone viral in social media.



Coimbatore: For the past few weeks, a herd of wild elephants has been roaming around in the agricultural fields in Narasipuram area near Thondamuthur in Coimbatore district.



Wild elephants roaming and damaging crops on cultivatable agricultural lands have become a regular phenomenon affecting the prospects of the farmers.

Due to this, the forest department officials are patrolling the area at night time and chase away the elephants roaming in the agricultural fields into the deep forests.

Panic-stricken farmers in the area are clueless as how to stop this marauding elephants, which feast on standing crops.



A CCTV footage of wild elephants roaming near agricultural land and residential areas during night hours in Narasipuram area has gone viral on social media.

Meanwhile, the farmers have demanded that the forest department should take immediate steps to prevent elephants from entering the agricultural fields and neighbourhoods.
