Minister Senthil Balaji presides over a Public hearing for the construction of new high-level flyovers in the city

While traffic congestion has been greatly reduced due to new bridges and link roads, there has been a demand for the construction of new high-level flyovers in other parts of the city such as Saibaba Colony, Singanallur and Saravanampatti.



Coimbatore: In order to decongest the city roads, many fly over projects are being implemented. The flyover works are being implemented at Trichy Road, Kavundampalayam, Mettupalayam Road, Ukkadam and Avinashi Road.

Out of this, the Trichy road and Kavundampalayam bridges have been opened for public utility, while other works are underway.

Notably, the work for the construction of a high-level flyover for a distance of 10 km on Avinashi Road, which is one of the busy arterial roads in Coimbatore, is almost 70% complete.

While traffic congestion has been greatly reduced due to new bridges and link roads, there has been a demand for the construction of high-level flyovers in other parts of the city such as Saibaba Colony, Singanallur and Saravanampatti.



Minister Senthil Balaji, who presided over the meeting Collectorate today heard the opinions of the general public, and the meeting was attended by a large number of social activists, members of the public, welfare organizations and political parties from their respective areas.



Discussions were held on how to ease the traffic congestion in the city roads, and the technical details about the laying of the over bridge.



Minister Senthil Balaji, who heard the public perceptions and views at the meeting, said, he would take up the briefs of today's meeting with the Chief Minister and assured that all necessary steps would be taken for the construction of new flyovers, where ever necessary.
